Apple iPhone 18 Pro Expected to Launch on September 9
New Delhi, September 5: Apple is set to hold its next major launch event on September 9, with the Apple iPhone 18 Pro expected to be one of the main products announced. The event will begin at 10:30 PM IST and will be streamed through Apple’s website and Apple TV app.
Apple has confirmed the September 9 event under the tagline “Surprise and shine,” but the company has not officially revealed which products will be launched. Reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will lead this year’s iPhone announcements, alongside Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone.
The standard iPhone 18, however, may not arrive at the same time. Industry reports indicate that Apple is changing its iPhone launch schedule, with the Pro models expected this September and the regular iPhone 18 potentially moving to early 2027.
Apple iPhone 18 Pro expected specifications
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to use Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, reportedly manufactured using TSMC’s 2nm process. Reports also point to 12GB of RAM, a smaller Dynamic Island, and changes to the display and camera system.
Here is what is currently expected:
| Feature | Apple iPhone 18 Pro – Expected Details |
|---|---|
| Processor | A20 Pro chip |
| RAM | 12GB |
| Display | LTPO+ display |
| Front design | Smaller Dynamic Island |
| Storage | Expected to start at 256GB |
| Camera | Camera upgrades expected |
| Software | iOS 27 |
| Launch event | September 9, 2026 |
These specifications have not yet been confirmed by Apple and could change when the company officially announces the phone.
Camera changes may be a key upgrade
One of the most discussed upgrades is a variable-aperture main camera. Reports have linked the feature to the iPhone 18 Pro series, although some sources suggest it could be limited to the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max.
A variable aperture would allow the camera to control the amount of light entering the lens more precisely. However, Apple has not confirmed the feature.
The iPhone 18 Pro is also expected to receive changes to its front display design, with reports suggesting a narrower Dynamic Island rather than a completely redesigned front panel.
New colours also expected
Recent reports claim Apple may introduce a new set of colours for the iPhone 18 Pro. Different leaks have mentioned black, blue and a dark red or burgundy-style finish, although the final colour options remain unconfirmed.
Apple iPhone 18 Pro price
Apple has not announced the price of the iPhone 18 Pro in India or other markets.
Industry research suggests rising memory and component costs could put pressure on pricing for the iPhone 18 series. The final price, however, will only become clear after Apple’s September 9 announcement.
The September event is scheduled for 10:30 PM IST on September 9, when Apple is expected to confirm the iPhone 18 Pro’s specifications, price, availability, and release date.
